Summary
Head Of Private Client Services
Location: Beverly Hills, Los Angeles
Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Benefits: 401(k) matching, health insurance, PTO
Summary: This role leads Private Client Services and exists to make service excellence consistent. You own the accountability system across the Client Relationships and Flight Strategy teams: the standards, metrics, coaching, hiring, and performance conversations that hold the bar for quality in place. Success looks like a team with clear expectations, a fast ramp for new hires, and a consistently high standard of client work every day.
What You Do:
- Performance & Accountability: Own performance management across both teams: the review cadence, the standards, and the calls on coaching, improvement plans, and promotion.
- Coaching & Development: Run substantive 1:1s. Review live client work, calls, and written communication, give specific feedback, and build development plans that produce measurable improvement. Grow the bench that fills senior seats as the company scales.
- Hiring & Capacity Planning: Own hiring for Directors of Client Relationships and Senior Flight Strategists. Forecast headcount against a growing book, balance portfolio loads across the team, while protecting service quality through periods of growth.
- Operating Cadence & Quality Controls: Own the meeting rhythm, data hygiene enforcement, and audit function that make exceptional client work repeatable rather than sporadic.
- Partnership with Practice Leads: Work in tandem with the Team Leads, who define what good looks like technically and carry client and flight responsibility of their own. You own how performance against that bar is measured and enforced. Where a quality issue is really a capacity, staffing, or development issue, it is yours to diagnose and resolve.
- Executive Partnership: Report to the Chief Executive Officer, and partner with the Chief Client Officer on team health, book health, and retention risk, and translate firm strategy into how Private Client Services operates day to day.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years directly managing client-facing teams, including experience leading senior individual contributors, built on 10+ years in private aviation, wealth management, luxury hospitality, or a comparable client-advisory environment.
- A track record of running a real performance system: clear standards, honest metrics, documented coaching, and the difficult conversations that follow. You have held a bar and you have enforced it.
- A genuine passion for developing people, with evidence of promoting from within and retaining high performers in a client-first culture.
- The credibility to lead experts. You can hold senior practitioners accountable without needing to be the most technical person in the room, and you know the difference between coaching someone and doing their job for them.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for clients and executives alike.
- Direct experience operating in a remote, high-trust, and fast-paced environment.
- Salesforce or comparable CRM proficiency, including the ability to manage a team from reporting.
How We Work:
Know the Game. You're genuinely curious about the particulars of private aviation. You want to know contracts, vendors, partners, and matters impacting our clients inside and out.
Tell the Truth. You write and speak with confidence and precision. When the answer is hard, you give it anyway, to clients, to vendors, and to the team.
Make the Call. You take ownership and bias toward action. If a client deserves an immediate update, you'd prefer to pick up the phone rather than send an email.
Own the Outcome. A handoff doesn't release you. You stay with the results until they land, through vendor delays, or whatever else gets in the way.
Earn the Business. You think in long-term relationships, not single transactions, and you understand that client business must be earned every day, not just granted at signing.
Why Aviation Portfolio? We are the largest strategic advisory practice in private aviation. We've advised on over $5 billion in private aviation transactions and support more than 30,000 client flights annually, putting that depth of data and experience to work for every client we serve. This role is technical, the autonomy is real, and the work matters. We save clients meaningful money and meaningful aggravation, and we're held to a high standard because of it. No commissions, no quotas, no games. If you want to build and hold the standard for the team that defines our firm, this is the seat for you.
Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary based on experience and geographic location. This role is eligible for a performance bonus. Benefits include 401(k) matching with automatic vesting, medical and dental insurance, and paid time off.
Work Schedule: Because we operate seven days a week, this role involves occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday availability for escalations and team coverage. Schedule flexibility is a must.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods, communicate verbally and in writing, and use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, and telephone. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for working on a computer and reading documents. The employee must also be able to maintain focus and concentration in a home or office environment with minimal interruptions.
Other Duties as Assigned Disclaimer: The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Non-Discrimination Policy: This company is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, all potential employees are required to provide proof and/or be verified of U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
