Summary

Performs analysis of internally generated signals, telemetry, and data streams to characterize the operation, configuration, and behavior of foreign systems. Ingests, decommutates, parses, validates, and interprets telemetry and related data to produce decision-quality intelligence.

Analyzes telemetry structures, scaling, units, operational modes, events, and system states. Develops and maintains telemetry dictionaries, data definitions, and analytic documentation to support reproducibility and traceability.

Specialized FISINT domain experience (e.g., space, air, unmanned systems, weapons) shall be defined at the requirement level.

Relevant experience for the FISINT Signals Analyst - Internals includes one or more of the following:

  • Analysis of internally generated signals, telemetry, or data streams to characterize system configuration, behavior, performance, or operational state
  • Telemetry ingestion, decommutation, parsing, validation, and interpretation across one or more foreign system types
  • Identification and interpretation of telemetry fields, bit structures, packet formats, scaling factors, units, and modes of operation
  • Development and maintenance of telemetry dictionaries, data definitions, interface control documentation (ICDs), or analytic reference materials
  • Reconstruction of system events, timelines, operational modes, or state transitions using internal signal data
  • Validation and quality control of internal signal data, including anomaly identification and resolution
  • Development, adaptation, or use of specialized tools, scripts, or automation supporting internal FISINT analysis
  • Documentation of analytic methods, assumptions, uncertainties, and results to ensure traceability and reproducibility

Clarifying Note: Experience in telemetry collection, data transport, or processing may contribute to overall experience but does not replace required internal signal analytic expertise.

Education: Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related STEM.
