Public Works Analyst II* to support the financial planning and fiscal administration of the Transportation Division’s programs. This position works closely with the Transportation Budget Officer and plays a key role in budget development, fund management, and financial reporting for critical transportation infrastructure projects.
The Administrative Services Division provides fiscal oversight and strategic financial support for the Department’s operations. In this role, the incumbent ensures transportation projects are properly funded, tracked, and reported across multiple revenue sources, including SB 1, Gas Tax, Measure I, and Federal, State, and Local funds. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Transportation Budget Officer in preparing financial and management reports.
- Track project expenditures across multiple transportation funds and prepare reimbursement requests.
- Coordinate with engineering staff to obtain project estimates and status updates to support long-range planning and fiscal forecasting.
- Monitor and recommend project funding allocations from various transportation funding streams (SB 1, Gas Tax, Measure I, Federal/State/Local).
- Administer and monitor budgets across multiple transportation funds and develop justifications for budget recommendations.
- Prepare annual transportation budgets for final publication and adoption.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, and a physical exam prior to appointment.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained.

Minimum Requirements EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience of professional level planning, project programming, grant writing, funding administration and/or legislative analysis experience.
--AND-- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent from and accredited college or university.
