The JobThe Office of the
Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARC) is recruiting for an
Archives Supervisor who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the County Archives unit. This position supervises County Archives staff, coordinates archival projects, ensures compliance with applicable laws and standards, and provides expert-level guidance in the storage, preservation, and retrieval of County records and historical documents.

Summary of Benefits Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Travel Required: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Minimum Requirements CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENT: EXPERIENCE Must possess two (2) years of experience at an archive, library, museum or similar setting conducting archival and/or records management projects and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards
AND one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
SUBSTITUTION
Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units in Archives and/or Records Management, History, Political Science, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience (not applicable to lead/supervisory experience) .
Transcripts MUST be attached if you do not possess a completed Associate degree (or higher) in related field. IMPORTANT NOTES: EDUCATION Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have an Associate degree (or higher) in the applicable field; experience leading or supervising staff responsible for storing, retaining, retrieving and securing records and information for a public agency; possess historical knowledge of San Bernardino County; have an interest in past and current affairs within the Inland Empire; have excellent research and analytical techniques and the ability to build positive and constructive relationships.
