THE POSITION

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a bright, ambitious, customer focused professional to join our team as a Senior IT Manager. This recruitment will also serve to create an eligible list to fill future vacancies within Stanislaus County.
This is the management level series in the Information Technology job family. Incumbents typically direct daily operations and manage most responsibilities through subordinate managers or supervisors. Managerial duties comprise at least 90% of the incumbent’s duties but incumbents may perform a small amount of high-level professional work in areas such as software engineering and analysis, systems engineering, software administration or other disciplines. Incumbents are responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of information technology programs, policies, and procedures. These activities include: product and service delivery, infrastructure and operations, security, compliance and risk mitigation, and strategy and planning. Incumbents are also responsible for budget preparation and administration. The Sr. Information Technology Manager confers with executive team and oversees a larger team which has primary responsibility for enterprise-level systems.
Unless otherwise provided, this position is part of the Unclassified Service of the County and considered “at will” for labor relations purposes. The individual selected will partici pate in the Stanislaus County Pay-for-Performance program, as well as receive additional benefits.
Individuals who are in a full-time classification position are required to serve a twelve-month probationary period, which may be extended an additional six months, for a total of eighteen months. Incumbents may also be subject to overtime, standby, callback, weekend, holiday and shift assignments as identified in their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding).
