Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Bus Operations Division, located at 400 Panama City Ave.
Salary Starting at: $7,268/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. with varied hours; may be required to support Division during inclement weather and emergencies.

Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for managerial, operational, and administrative aspects of a 24/7 airport operation with 70+ divisional employees, which provides on-airport transportation to customers and tenants.
- Manages divisions budgetary and fiscal responsibilities for multi-million-dollar budget.
- Requires extensive use of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment within the policy framework of City rules, regulations, and the Local 500 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the administration of assigned work related to airport bus operations, including enforcement of applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manages Bus Operations Supervisors and oversees the daily activities of drivers and administrative staff to ensure safe, dependable, efficient delivery service, and customer relations.
- Provides oversight of all aspects of employee management functions including hiring, coaching, counseling, discipline, termination, and preparation of performance evaluations.
- Establishes performance expectations and service standards to meet or exceed operational metrics and prepare staff for advancement opportunities.
- Designs and implements training for employees on transportation equipment, customer service standards, ADA requirements, and emergency procedures necessary to meet operational performance expectations.
- Develops and implements strategies to optimize operational efficiency, on-time performance, fleet utilization, and customer satisfaction to meet or exceed established KPI benchmarks.
- Manage operational issues that arise during regular business hours and after-hours, including service disruptions, staffing shortages, bus breakdowns, and emergency situations.
- Identifies and implements operational improvements and innovations to enhance service delivery and achieve cost savings.
- Collaborate with Safety Division to ensure staff receive appropriate safety and defensive driving training during onboarding and through ongoing refresher programs.
- Consults with transit professionals and peer airports to share best practices and improve bus operations performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Important information: - Must pass 10-year TSA Background Check.
- Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and inclement weather events.
- Must successfully obtain and maintain an MCI Issued AOA Movement Area Badge with driving privileges.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachlelor's degree and 5 years managing a division or significant business function within the aviation department or industry. Must successfully complete a TSA criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screen. OR High school graduation and nine (9) years of managing a division, section or program within airport operations, airport regulatory compliance, or oversight of building and/or construction operations at an airport.
