Description

The Position

The City of Riverside, General Services Department is accepting applications for the position of GENERAL SERVICE WORKER (FULL TIME) to fill one (1) vacancy in the Building Maintenance Division. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

The General Service Worker performs and provides a variety of unskilled and limited skilled general maintenance and/or other related manual tasks for various departments.

Under general supervision, the General Service Worker performs entry-level maintenance, custodial, and general labor duties to support City operations. Daily assignments may include facility maintenance, cleaning, moving equipment and materials, assisting skilled trades staff, and other manual labor as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).


Experience:
None.

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid Class “C” California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
