Job Summary Position Location: Mennello Museum of American Art Salary: $18.00 per Hour Regular Hours: Part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with additional evening/weekend hours required for programs and special event coverage, visitor services at the front desk, including monthly Free Family Funday support required on each 2nd Sunday of the month.
Primary Functions: This position will support all facets of the visitor services operation and provide educational assistance throughout the museum, delivering a gracious and enriching experience for all visitors, including children, students, lifelong learners, and those attending special events and rentals. The position also supports education programs, schedules and conducts tours, prepares educational and promotional materials, engages with artists, and assists with special events, including setup and breakdown.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in art, art history, art education and at least
one year of experience in visitor, service or education (preferably in a museum setting).
Preferred Qualifications: The incumbent must be friendly, possess excellent customer service skills, and work well with others.
Be flexible in responding to the changing needs of each day.
Be able to handle a fast-paced environment while providing quality visitor education experience.
Possess computer skills
Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to the ticketing and customer relationship software.
Parts of the position require some physical labor (moving brochure boxes, chairs, tables, etc.), and conducting visitor operations outdoors.

The employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in English, both in person and over the telephone, and through email and other electronic means; to move about the work area, between buildings, and across the exterior museum grounds; to handle various types of media and equipment; and to visually or otherwise identify, observe, and assess. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED. If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
Salary:
USD 18.00 per hour
