Job AnnouncementThe City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a
Library Specialist at Basha Library. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend shifts as required by staffing and departmental needs.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are looking for Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. This role involves active participation in public library operations and includes assisting with a range of responsibilities such as preparing and organizing library programs, as well as supporting the evaluation and acquisition of materials and services in accordance with established library standards, procedures, and practices.

Minimum Qualifications • A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 2 years of general library experience; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications • Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Experience providing early literacy programming including Storytimes and after-school activities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both children and teenagers.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
