Description
Distinguishing Features of the Class
Under immediate supervision, to perform routine manual labor related to construction, maintenance, and repair activities or supports staff in land application of biosolids.
This position is a seasonal 7-month assignment (March - October). 40 hours per week. Some work assignments may include working overtime, weekends and holidays.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
Required Special Qualifications
Possession of a valid Class A CDL with Tank Endorsement, and the ability to operate vehicles with Airbrakes, is required.
Candidates for positions in this class must pass a post-employment offer background check, physical examination, and drug screen.

Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)
Perform manual labor such as repairing concrete and asphalt pavement, digging trenches and post holes, loading/unloading materials, equipment, and supplies; backfill ditches, manholes, and complete other required activities to assist construction crews.
Repair and maintain roadways, rights-of-ways, sidewalks, and various infrastructure elements to ensure upkeep of the City’s infrastructure.
Maintain traffic control markings and devices.
Assist with sanding, snow removal, and flood control efforts.
Occasionally operate pneumatic power tools, hand tools, trucks, and other similar equipment.
Adhere to safety protocols and use protective gear (e.g., hard hats, gloves, safety glasses) to reduce injury risks, including installing barricades for traffic control and safety.
