The mission of Office of Administration’s Division of Budget & Planning is to improve the lives of Missourians by improving Missouri’s government. T he administrative support assistant provides organizational and data support across the office by directly supporting timely delivery of accurate information for State executive leadership and decisionmakers. Some of the most influential public servants in state government count on Budget & Planning to provide the analysis required to make the well-informed decisions that impact all Missourians. Candidates for this role must be able to manage multiple projects, perform accurate data entry, learn new systems, communicate professionally, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities particularly during the budget and legislative cycles timely analysis is most in-demand.

Budget & Planning offers a level of independence and variety that is not typical of many offices. Our staff has significant discretion in how work is organized and completed. The focus of the administrative support assistant’s work evolves throughout the year alongside the rest of the office’s work in response to the legislative calendar, budget cycles, and operational needs. As a result, daily responsibilities and monthly priorities may vary significantly. No two days (or months) are the same.

During regular interactions with State executive leadership, legislative staff, agency partners, and other stakeholders, Budget & Planning staff gain broad exposure to Missouri’s legislative and budget processes. This knowledge and experience build a strong foundation for understanding how state government operates. The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
