Introduction

About the Position:
The attorney hired for this position may provide general and transactional legal services and/or civil litigation related services. As a transactional attorney, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in general municipal or governmental law or a related field to include reviewing and drafting contracts and licenses, ordinances, resolutions, public records and other general legal documents. As a civil litigation attorney, the ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of Arizona experience in complex civil litigation (such as personal injury, civil rights and employment law) and civil trials. This position may also provide legal services to one or more additional City departments and/or Boards or Commissions.

This position may be filled as an Assistant City Attorney I depending on experience and qualifications.

Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The midpoint salary is $132,870.40 (Assistant City Attorney I) and $139,526.40 (Assistant City Attorney II) annually.
