Description
Job Location: This position will be located at 8800 E 63rd St, Raytown, MO 64033.

This position is essential to ensuring the reduction of disease transmission in the central counties of Missouri. A person in this position will work with diverse populations. In addition, this position will frequently communicate with medical providers.
- Initiate and complete investigations on reportable HIV/STI infections, including interviewing those infected or at risk of infection.
- Assure appropriate testing and treatment of those with HIV/STI infections.
- Explain the medical aspects of disease transmission and risk reduction activities.
- Notify sex and needle-sharing partners of their exposure and need for testing and/or treatment.
- Conduct HIV/STI rapid specimen collection and provide both positive and negative results
- Provide support, guidance, and health education regarding HIV/STI best practices according to CDC guidelines to LPHA staff, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Assist other members of the disease investigation team, as needed.
- Assist the regional supervisor and program coordinator with quality assurance and improvement projects, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Substitutions may be permitted.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of public health functions and essential services.
- This position requires professionalism, excellent attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, discretion, and the strict maintenance of confidentiality.
- The candidate should be comfortable with having sexually explicit discussions with the individuals served through the partner services program and be able to relay medical information about HIV/STI transmission to staff, the general public, and medical providers.
