The JobLand Use Services Department is seeking a highly skilled
Land Use Services Coordinator with exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. The Land Use Services Coordinator will be responsible for effectively engaging with developers, the public, and the Board of Supervisors, providing clear explanations and resolutions to development-related issues. This position will involve investigating and analyzing complaints, coordinating with key divisions within Land Use Services (including Planning, Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, and Land Development), and collaborating with other County departments involved in the development process. The Land Use Services Coordinator will serve as an advocate for complainants, recommend practical solutions, oversee project management to facilitate the completion of development processes, and identify opportunities for enhancing internal procedures to improve customer service delivery.

Land Use Services Department is dedicated to ensuring a balance in the areas of housing, business, and recreational needs for the diverse cultures and communities of San Bernardino County. This is accomplished through comprehensive regional planning and enforcement of building standards, land uses, and environmental impacts. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, candidate must undergo a background check, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

Minimum RequirementsCandidates must meet ONE (1) of the Experience options below to qualify. A combination of experience under either option may be acceptable.
EXPERIENCE OPTION 1 Three (3) years of administrative experience explaining rules, regulations, and ordinances in development services or similar environment
EXPERIENCE OPTION 2 Three (3) years of professional-level experience gained in a public sector agency analyzing complex legislation, rules, and regulations, handling politically sensitive issues, and making recommendations/solutions based upon findings.
Desired QualificationsThe desired candidate will have experience working in a land development agency with experience in communicating and problem solving in a fast paced environment. Candidates working in a Land Use Environment are desirable.
