Position DescriptionThis position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes client's medications from filled prescriptions.
Major/Essential Functions- Coordinates with patients to deliver and administer medications as ordered and prescribed by providers.
- Follows compliance and departmental standards to ensure patients' safety is prioritized. Ensures physical control of medications is always within department standards.
- Clearly, concisely, and timely documents activities in patients' health records and medication administration systems.
- Within the scope of the specific credential of the team member, will support clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classification and/or position description.

Required QualificationsCorrectional Medication Aide: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent and Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) with current credential from the Texas Department of State Health Services OR Successful completion of a certified medication aide training course and passage of State exam.
Correctional Medication Aide Trainee: HS diploma or GED
