ITSD is seeking a dedicated and versatile ServiceNow Application Developer who will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of DSS ServiceNow applications and environments. In this position, you will collaborate closely with leadership to facilitate the successful delivery of projects by:
- Formulating and implementing quality assurance (QA) methods. ServiceNow developer shall plan and execute unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identifying system inefficiencies. ServiceNow developer must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and report issues.
- Following IT practice standards. ServiceNow developer is responsible for following IT best practices and improving existing methods.
- Designing and developing configurations. ServiceNow developers ensure the functionality of the customizable, integrative ServiceNow platform.
May serve as project lead, provide technical direction, and mentor less experienced staff.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS)

- The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
- Design, develop, and implement custom applications on the ServiceNow platform.
- Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow environment to include modifications of applications, forms, workflow, interfaces, and any other customization required to support ITIL processes.
- Perform day-to-day administration of the ServiceNow platform, including user and group management, configuration, customization, and scripting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Configure ServiceNow modules based on business needs and best practices.
- Perform system integration tasks with third-party tools and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ServiceNow configurations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, workflows, and user guides.
- Experience working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift frequently, adapting Agile practices to meet changing needs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and stakeholders to drive project success.
- Candidate should be skilled in gathering and interpreting data and providing recommendations.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing testing methodologies/strategies for both mainframe and web-based applications.
- Ability to follow development support methodologies consistent with ITSD-DSS standards and various levels of complexity regarding analysis, design, and data management/testing.
- Ability to quickly gain an overall understanding of the business processes and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral), with the ability to facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts.
- Should be detail-oriented and self-motivated with significant analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience using project management tools such as JIRA or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of IT experience with emphasis in software development. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
