Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include: driving County vehicles for the purpose of delivering supplies and equipment to facilities and employees around the County. (i.e.: ergonomics, resupply of departments with Personal Protective Equipment); driving county vehicles to resupply Blood Borne Pathogen supplies and pick-up waste from the County "Bio-barns" at the remote county locations; computer data entry and updating proper files on County employees pertaining to, training etc., this could involve handling personal information and requires a very high level of confidentiality; must be physically able to manually lift and handle boxes of files which weigh up to 30-40 lbs.; must be able to oversee 2-3 Detention Center Trustees for this on occasion; research Motor Vehicle Report data online, compile data and report out findings on employees driving records; assist Safety Officers with safety requests submitted by employees, inspections of facilities, accident investigations, training programs, safety projects and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Safety Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Position requires a high school (or GED) with basic knowledge of safety regulations to help teach safety topics. Must have computer skills necessary to conduct web searches and compile data bases. Must have a valid South Carolina Drivers' License with the necessary skills to operate a full sized pick-up truck and trailer. Ability to work with very little supervision in the field is highly desired.
