Position Summary San Diego State University is seeking a dedicated and organized
Food Pantry Coordinator to join our team at the SDSU Imperial Valley campus. Under the supervision and direction of the SDSU IV Dean of Students, the Food Pantry Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the SDSU Imperial Valley Food Pantry.
Key Responsibilities - Logistics Management: Oversee the logistics and ensure the successful daily operations of the SDSU IV Food Pantry.
- Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the SDSU Imperial Valley Food Pantry.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Student Affairs unit to coordinate efforts and support the overall mission of the SDSU Imperial Valley Food Pantry.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the food pantry operates efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our students and community.

Position Information - Full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- The position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is located at SDSU Imperial Valley in Calexico, CA, approximately 120 miles east of the San Diego main campus.
- The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in Imperial Valley.
Department Summary SDSU Imperial Valley is a campus/college of San Diego State University serving the desert area of southeastern California. It is accredited as an integral unit of SDSU and operates under the same governance structure and university policies. Established in 1959 by an act of the State Legislature, SDSU IV offers its programs at two locations in Imperial County: Calexico and Brawley. Offering four-year and two-year undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, and post-baccalaureate credential programs, SDSU Imperial Valley helps matriculated students achieve their higher education goals. Currently, SDSU IV employs 61 full-time faculty and staff members.
The SDSU Imperial Valley Student Affairs unit, working in conjunction with the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity at the San Diego campus, is mutually responsible for the coordination and development of student services and building the inclusive excellence of SDSU’s staff and faculty. Areas of services include, but are not limited to, Career Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Educational Opportunity Programs, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Veterans Services, Student Disability Services, Student Health Services, Student Life and Leadership, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Testing Services, and Supporting the Associated Students.
Under the direction of the Dean for SDSU Imperial Valley, the Dean of Students is the lead administrator for the Student Affairs unit.

Education and Experience Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Key Qualifications - Bilingual: English & Spanish.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Google applications.
- Experience working with college students and staff.
- Experience conducting presentations in small and large group settings; facilitating workshops using effective public speaking techniques.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Google Forms, and Google Drive.
- One year of customer service experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications Required - Valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.
Compensation and Benefits Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,864 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,864 - $6,072 per month.
