What You'll Be DoingThe Economic and Social Services Division in Wake County is looking for an Eligibility Case Manager I to join our Family and Children Medicaid Dual team. This hybrid role involves determining initial and ongoing eligibility for Medicaid programs, working closely with center patients, and interacting with center staff. The work is fast-paced, deadline-driven, and requires independence and focus. This position is located at SouthLight HealthCare in Garner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter required data and documentation into NCFAST and other electronic systems to authorize benefits.
- Assess information to determine eligibility for Medicaid programs (initial and ongoing).
- Respond to client inquiries, phone calls, emails, and requests for information.
- Provide required notifications of information needed and case outcomes.
- Manage queues and workflows in OnBase, NCFAST, and other systems.
- Complete daysheets, timesheets, and case action forms.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - High school degree or GED
- Two years of related experience
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Experience determining eligibility for a State or County Department of Social Services program (preferably Family and Children's Medicaid).
- Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a keen ability to manage multiple tasks and systems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, able to provide clear and timely information to clients and staff.

- Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet business needs (e.g., Microsoft Office, NC FAST, and electronic document management system)
