Description
Position Description: Key Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, and implement stormwater management and environmental education programs for schools, local governments, and the general public.
- Lead outreach efforts to raise awareness about stormwater pollution, water conservation, and the importance of environmental stewardship.
- Provide technical assistance and training to local residents and businesses on stormwater best management practices (BMPs).
- Organize workshops, community events, and educational campaigns related to water quality and stormwater management.
- Create and distribute educational materials, including brochures, presentations, web site updates, social media content, and newsletters.
- Monitor stormwater-related projects and coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between the Soil & Water District, local government agencies, and community groups to promote stormwater management initiatives.
Brief Description: The Licking County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill the position of
Stormwater Educator/Outreach Coordinator. This position will be responsible for promoting and educating the community about stormwater management and environmental conservation efforts, supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of water resources in Licking County. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead public outreach programs, develop educational materials, and collaborate with local agencies, schools, and community organizations.
Job Prerequisites: Required Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited college with an Associate’s Degree (preferably in marketing, communications, natural resources management, environmental studies or related field); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate with and present information to diverse groups of people. Experience and ease with formal and informal public speaking.
- Ability to organize and implement multiple, complex projects and events
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva. Familiarity with Google Mail, Calendar and Drive.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license
- Excellent written communication skills, including a high proficiency in English grammar, composition, and verbal communication.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain in an outdoor environment and ability to carry and transport resource materials and equipment.
