EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST
Description
job descriptionEngages in all aspects of Equipment Acquisition; prepares and analyzes technical specifications for specialized utility equipment; prepares and administers contracts, creates spreadsheets, cost and budget estimates in connection with the procurement, fabrication, inspection, and testing of fleet utility equipment. Conducts and coordinates meetings with internal users and vendors to ensure that equipment specified meets operational needs. Analyzes bids, generates recommendation of award for the purchase of transportation and construction equipment; Conducts quality assurance testing and performs on-site equipment inspections of work in progress at DWP shops and contractor facilities to ensure contract compliance. Operates equipment as needed to perform tests. Generates inspection reports and related duties.
