Overview

We are excited to welcome a highly motivated, innovative, talented and experienced individual to join the Larimer County Community Development Department as a Plans Examiner!

The Plans Examiner reviews all construction plans for commercial, residential and accessory building projects to determine structural integrity and compliance with applicable codes and permit requirements. You will also help customers at our public counter, by phone and email, and conduct pre-submittal meetings with builders, engineers, contractors, and architects concerning building code and permit requirements.

Larimer County has a population of approximately 350,000 people encompassing 2,600 square miles of rural landscapes, mountains, and urban settings along the vibrant and growing North Front Range of Colorado. The region consistently has been recognized as a great place to be and an innovative place to work, live, and play. The County includes eight incorporated municipalities with the largest, Fort Collins as the county seat and home to Colorado State University.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-4:30 pm.
