- Applicants must attach a valid typing certificate. A valid typing certificate must include all of the following requirements:
- Ability to type no less than 45 net words per minute
- Must be dated within the last 12 months
- Can be completed online
- Step 2: Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)
- Step 3: Management Panel Interview
- Step 4: Polygraph
- Step 5: Background
- Step 6: Executive Panel Interview
- Step 7: Conditional Offer (Final job offer is dependent on the Medical and Psychological evaluations)
Minimum Qualifications A lateral dispatcher must be currently employed as a Dispatcher by a California public safety agency and needs to have successfully completed probation with the current agency. Candidates who are not currently employed as a Dispatcher by a California public safety agency are encouraged to apply to our Entry-level Dispatcher position.
HIRING BONUS Hiring bonus for Lateral Police Communications Dispatchers in a total amount of
$7,500. The lateral hire will receive the first payment of
$3,750 upon acceptance of final offer letter and
$3,750 upon completion of the probationary period (To be eligible for the hiring bonus, applicants must apply on or after October 13, 2022).
