Description

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, performs journey level fire alarm testing, repairing, installing, and programming of fire alarm systems and components within the buildings, grounds and structures of the University and other related duties as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of National and California Electrical Codes. Ability to read, interpret and work from plans and drawings. General knowledge of electrical tools and safety practices. General knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance. Ability to direct work of skilled and unskilled helpers. Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic functions. Ability to learn and use a computerized work system at a level commensurate with the position. Ability to follow all University and department policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,998 - $8,737 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
