Ready to be part of an outstanding team? Consider working as an Accounting Technician for the Nevada County Library system. We are seeking highly qualified applicants for this position. If you are proficient in performing technical accounting duties under minimal direction, we are looking for you! The characteristics of a successful candidate are attention to detail, persistence in solving problems, and strong organizational skills.
The key responsibilities for this role are:
- Performing financial record keeping and auditing of financial records and operations; generating accounts payable batches, accounts receivable batches, and other accounting documents
- Verifying and computing accuracy of charges and revenue; processing/authorizing claims for payment
- Providing support in the development of department budgets, maintaining an accurate accounting of departmental expenditures and allocating expenditures to appropriate coded accounts
- Receiving, reviewing, and verifying payroll and accounting records, as well as claims, invoices, and associated documents for completeness
- Applying and implementing County policies, MOU provisions, and State and Federal laws and regulations
- Managing the reservations for the Community Room rentals, including generating contracts and collecting payment
- Providing administrative support to Library staff
The accounting technician is an integral part of the staff of Nevada County Library, ensuring that our financial operations are in accordance with auditing requirements and in support of our mission and vision of being responsible stewards of our resources. This position is crafted for experienced individuals who have graduated from high school plus and have completed courses in accounting or financial record-keeping, from an accredited college or university. Four years of progressively responsible experience in financial or statistical record-keeping is also needed.
