DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, to perform a variety of semi-skilled pipe and related work on the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer lines, storm drains, services and related equipment; and to do related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

One year of experience in water and sewer installation, maintenance, and repair, or related experience that would indicate possession of the above qualifications.

Education:

Equivalent to high school graduation, in addition to any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to qualify for this position.

Necessary Special Requirements:


Residency Requirement:

All Water and Sewer employees shall, within six months of hire, establish residency within a 30-minute notification to respond zone.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee and those applicants who appear to be among the best qualified will be selected for the examination process. This process may include a variety of techniques designed to test applicants’ knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. An eligibility list will be established by ranking candidates by their overall score and a selection will be made from the candidates on this list. All employment offers are subject to a City-paid physical examination and a thorough reference and background check.
