The City of Irvine is seeking a hard-working, experienced maintenance professional to serve as a Facilities Maintenance Specialist within the Public Works & Sustainability Department. The position performs skilled building and facility maintenance and repair tasks in assigned specialties, including Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) and electrical.
Your Impact- Effectively communicates with customers and all levels of City staff including responding to internal and external customer service requests.
- Prepare work orders, inspection forms, and risk management assessments.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation for parks and/or buildings and facilities including troubleshooting HVAC systems and equipment along with electronic controls and building automation programs.
- Review contracts regarding assigned specialization and monitor contracted work.
- Perform preventative electrical maintenance on all types of electrical equipment, including pumps, compressors, lighting equipment, driver motors, gear head motors, electrical parts or air conditioning controls, controlled/automatic gate lighting, and power tools.

Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent with vocational/technical training in a specialty, such as HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance.
- Three years building construction/maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.
Best Fit- Demonstrated computer literacy and working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, word processing, and records management.
- Excel at working independently and exercising sound judgment.
- Proven track record of outstanding situational awareness, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of contact management.
HVAC Maintenance Specialist:
- Two years of commercial HVAC experience is highly desirable.
- Certified Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC-R Technician, Universal Refrigerant Handler, and EPA certification are highly desirable.
- Experience with computerized controls and building automation programs is desirable.

$60,528.00 - $95,180.80 Annually
