Description
Position Summary **100% ONSITE POSITON** As an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients.
We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.
Position Summary:
Provides leadership and subject matter expertise on security-related issues and decisions. Designs and implements system security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Acts as an information security liaison to stakeholders and business units throughout the hospital.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in network, systems, or security engineering roles, with at least three (3) of the five (5) years in recent dedicated enterprise security roles performing hands-on security practices and duties.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISC2 Associate CISSP, Global Information Assurance Security Essentials Certification (GSAC), or other industry-recognized equivalent certification in the disciplines of cyber security.
Additional and/or Preferred Position RequirementsMust have one of the following certifications at the time of hire:- ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Global Information Assurance Security Essentials Certification (GSAC)
- Other industry-recognized equivalent certification in the disciplines of cyber security
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Secure system engineering; root cause analysis procedures and practices; cyber security emerging threats and risks; system forensics and evidence preservation; cloud security practices; IT security governance and compliance; application of cyber security technologies; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in:Secure system engineering; complex problem solving; identifying and remediating cyber security threats and risks; legal hold; data preservation and computer forensic response; compliance and governance activities; scripting; planning and directing the work of others; troubleshooting and resolving complex system problems; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; communicating effectively in oral and written form; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio- economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
