The GIS Supervisor provides leadership and manages, plans, and assigns work on GIS projects and tasks. This role oversees the production of reports, maps, data, and applications for internal and external customers and develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications. As the supervisor of the GIS team, the role motivates and supports the team in their work towards set goals, ensuring the effective use of GIS technology to support organizational decision-making and spatial analysis. The work of this position requires standard core hours of Monday through Friday 9am to 3pm with the possibility of after hours support on critical systems.

Qualifications

Experience : Five or more years experience with ESRI’s GIS software is required along with three years of supervisory experience.

Education : A bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, or related field is required. Additional relevant work experience may substitute for education.

Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.

Environmental or Physical Demands : This role requires exposure to noise from equipment rooms and possible exposure to a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions. Lifting of up to 35 pounds regularly is also required along with limited amounts of bending, stooping, climbing, and kneeling. Also requires exposure to various chemicals for cleaning and maintaining equipment.
