Contra Costa Health Services includes a Health Plan, Public Health, Hazardous Materials, Environmental Health, Housing Homeless and Health, Regional Medical Center, Behavioral Health, Emergency Management Services, and a full complement of ambulatory care sites including school-based services.
The Contra Costa County Health Services Department has an excellent employment opportunity for one (1) full-time Network Analyst II assigned primarily to the Health Services Information Technology Unit located in Concord, CA.
While this recruitment is to fill current openings in the Health Services Department, the eligible list may also be used for other County Departments. We are looking for someone who: - Shows initiative, follow-through, and excels at troubleshooting.

What you will typically be responsible for:- Taking ownership of projects and managing resources to project completion.
- Performing a variety of complex systems analysis duties in the development, installation, implementation, and evaluation of local area, wide area, or multi-protocol open data networks.
- Analyzing user information system needs; recommending solutions and appropriate technology to meet client needs; and designing systems as appropriate.
- Participating in County-wide complex projects as a team member.
- Installing, testing, and configuring network hardware and software.
- Contacting vendors for components, technical references, and/or services required for network expansion and maintenance.
- Producing detailed accurate documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
- Participating in after-hours on-call rotations.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future openings for up to six (6) months.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, computer information systems, data base administration, telecommunications management or a closely related field.
AND Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or its equivalent experience in designing, installing and helping to maintain complex LANs or WANs network acceleration technologies using TCP/IP, UDP and other standard networking protocols using physical layers, bridges, switches, firewall, gateways and routers.
Substitution for Education: (1) Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four years.
(2) Possession of professional technical certifications can substitute for up to a maximum of two (2) years of the required education. Each of the following current and valid certifications can be substituted for six (6) months of required education:
- CompTIA Net+
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- MCITP - Enterprise Administrator/Server Administrator
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
- CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional)
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- CCA (Cisco Certified Architect)
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
- JNCIP/E-ENT (Juniper Network Certified Professional/Expert Enterprise Routing and switching)
- CCA-N (Citrix Certified Associate - Networking)
- CCP-N (Citrix Certified Professional - Networking)
Desirable Qualifications: - Experience supporting client VPN solutions and site to site VPNs, 802.1x
- Vendor certifications, CCNA/CCNP, PCNSE, PMP, Azure Certification etc. are a plus
- Experiece dealing with healthcare technologies, equipment, protocols
- Data Center experience and overlay technologies (VXLAN, OTV, LISP, MPBGP w MPLS)
- Experience with application layer firewalls
- Wireless experience (site surveys, AP placement and tracking, troubleshooting)
- Experience with network monitoring software, IPAM, visio, Agile/Scrum methodology, ticketing system
Selection ProcessApplication Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
Multiple Choice Exam: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online test. The assessment will measure candidates' competencies that may include but are not limited to : critical thinking, delivering results, professional and technical expertise, attention to detail, and customer focus. C andidates must receive a score of at least 70%, which may be an adjusted score, in order to be ranked on the employment list.

If more than six (6) months have passed, you will need to retake the exam.
Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an invitation to participate in the selection process.
