Description
Job Summary The CED Admin Coordinator provides administrative support to the College of Education (CED), the CED ASM, and CED Departments, as needed. This Coordinator will be assigned to support various Departments, Department Chairs/Directors, faculty, staff, and students in a wide variety of areas, including budgeting and finance, communications, scheduling, record keeping, and personnel matters. The Admin Support Coordinator also acts as a customer service specialist for its constituents: faculty, staff, students, and the public-at-large. This position may support multiple department units at one time and the various units supported can be complex in nature and will require the ability to learn the intricacies of each department quickly and be able to make decisions about the proper course of action on various tasks interdependently.
Key Responsibilities - Personnel Support & Coordination - Provides administrative support to Chair/Director for recruitment process of faculty, staff, student assistants, and independent contractors per CSULB/CED policies and procedures.
- Budget and Financial - Independently performs data entry of expenditures. Reconciles funds every month, reporting errors to the operation’s office; maintains fund balances.
- Administration, Communications, & Customer Service - Serves as liaison between student, faculty, and administrators and the public, including answering phones and greeting Department visitors. Is able to independently solve customer problems and identify appropriate resources.
- Class Scheduling Support - Assists Chair/Director in tracking faculty schedule availability and preferences. Enters scheduling data into database and runs reports relative to faculty and classroom resource allocations. Enters all scheduling changes/cancellations and reports updates to CED College office.
- Record Keeping & Inventory - Maintains all department data, including but not limited to personnel, grant, accreditation, and student data, as needed per CSULB and CED policy or based on the needs of the department.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of various Microsoft Products, including Microsoft Office. Microsoft Excel experience and skills are required. Experience in PeopleSoft and Sharepoint are highly preferred.

Education and Experience • Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
• Experience with purchasing and managing a budget preferred.
Physical Summary - Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,058 - $6,653 per month.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation, and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
