Pay Range: $16.07/hr.

The City of Fort Worth Police Department is recruiting Police Cadets who are interested in learning more about a career in law enforcement. These are paid,
PART-TIME, non-civil service positions designed to provide persons interested in a future career as a Law Enforcement officer the opportunity to work in the law enforcement environment. Cadets perform a wide variety of public safety-related duties in support of the Police Department. These positions offer flexible working hours typically between 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Requirements: - Applicants will be required to pass a physical fitness assessment prior to employment . This test will include: 1.5 mile run in 17:51 minutes or less, 22 or more sit-ups in 1 minute, 11 or more push-ups: no time frame but cannot break plank form, and 500 meters on a rowing machine in 2:27 or less minutes on a damper setting of 5
- Work hours will be limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
Qualifications: - Candidates must be at least a High School graduate between 18-25 years of age.
- Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s license required.
- Resume required.
- Letter(s) of recommendation are highly encouraged.
Benefits: - Partial Tuition Reimbursement for students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university (up to $1,500 per year, after 6 months’ probation period);

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
