The City of Fort Worth Library Department is seeking to hire an outgoing, creative, community-focused Adult Librarian for the Southwest Regional Library. The ideal candidate for this position is customer-focused, has extensive knowledge of adult literature, adult education, popular culture and best practices for serving adults. They will also be an enthusiastic collaborator, adept at public speaking, proficient with technology, and possess excellent time management and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications: - Master’s Degree of Library Sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications: - At least two years of experience developing and presenting programs, workshops, and classes for adults.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Essential job functions: - Participates in system wide committees and works collaboratively with other members of the library staff to generate, plan and implement programs for young adults and adults that meet the needs of the community.
- Maintains a diverse range of ongoing programs for the adult community while simultaneously introducing new programs that respond to patron and community interests.
- Tracks program attendance, evaluates program outcomes, and prepares reports.
- Manage branch program budget with branch manager, and keeps a record of expenses, and contracts.
- Provides exceptional customer and reference service to the public at various service points, including the reference desk, circulation desk, public computer areas, and via telephone.
- Assists patrons in locating library materials.
- Assists patrons with online databases, digital collections, and Internet searching.
- Assists patrons with operation and maintenance of library equipment including photocopiers, public computers, laptops, wireless printing, and 3D printers.
Physical Demands Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.
