Pay Range: $107,610 - $121,646

A Safety Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth Human Resources Department, Safety Division.
The Safety Division of the Human Resource’s Department is tasked with ensuring employees are able to work in a safe and secure environment. This division is responsible for compliance with various state and federal regulations as well as overseeing safety-related programs, training and testing.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Science, Environmental Safety, Engineering, Business Administration or a closely related field
- Five (5) years of safety experience including two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
- Possession of a Valid Driver’s License at time of hire
- Possession of a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with managing the requirements around a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program including the Driver Qualification File
- Experience with OSHA reporting and requirements including an OSHA 300 log
- Experience with Safety management in a governmental entity or an industry involving heavy machinery
The Safety Manager’s job responsibilities include: - Manage a staff of two including prioritizing work and assigning work, conducting evaluations and staff training
- Manage the City’s drug and alcohol testing programs ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements
- Oversees the administration of safety-related programs including testing protocol, reporting and employee education to ensure adherence to federal, state and local regulations
- Analyzes safety data to develop both long and short-term strategies to reduce injuries and incidents and enhance overall safety performance
- Monitors contract compliance with outside vendors including the RFP process
- Develops, evaluates, and monitors the effectiveness of the organization’s safety programing; designing and delivering training initiatives aimed at preventing accidents and minimizing workplace injuries.
