Pay Range: $21.26/hr. - $26.57/hr.

A Facilities Maintenance Technician l job is available with the City of Fort Worth Property Management Department within its Facilities Division. The Facilities Division provides City Departments with world class facility planning, design, construction, renovation and maintenance services. The Division is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for building equipment maintenance, repair and installation at Municipal Complex facility.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in HVAC, electrical technology, or a related field
- Two years responsible experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and electrical systems.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must pass Drug Screen, Physical, Tuberculosis screening.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in large commercial (10,000 sq ft +) buildings preferred Facilities Maintenance Technician l job responsibilities include:
- Performs maintenance and repair of all electrical and mechanical systems, except those requiring the attention of a licensed specialist.
- Installs outlets and replaces switches, light bulbs and fixtures.
- Monitors electrical and electronic equipment including air conditioning and heating systems. Makes minor repairs to door hinges and locks.
- Installs and implements new equipment and materials.
The Skilled Trades Tech I job responsibilities include: - Performs maintenance and repair of all electrical and mechanical systems, except those requiring the attention of a licensed specialist.
- Installs outlets and replaces switches, light bulbs and fixtures.
- Monitors electrical and electronic equipment including air conditioning and heating systems.
- Makes minor repairs to furniture, door hinges and locks.
- Installs and implements new equipment and materials.
- Assists in preparing assigned facility or building for special events.
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
