Description
Job Location: This position is located at the Harry S Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?Be part of the team protecting Missourians purchasing auto, homeowners and other exciting property and casualty insurance products by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and evaluating their potential impact on consumers.
- Evaluate property and casualty form and rule filing submissions to determine compliance with Missouri insurance laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with insurance company officials to ensure contracts and rates meet the requirements of law and identify any deficiencies that need to be resolved.
- Analyze rate filing submissions to determine insurance premiums charged to Missourians are not excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory.
What are the qualifications for the position? - Knowledge through a Bachelor’s degree or work experience with specialization in insurance, risk management, business or public administration or closely related areas.
- Strong organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Completion or work towards CPCU or similar professional designations is desired.
Areas of qualifying experience:
Experience in an insurance regulatory agency which involved interpretation, application and/or enforcement of statutes and regulations. Experience in insurance sales, underwriting, policy contract review and/or development, claims adjusting, claims processing, risk management (preferably in property & casualty insurance) or closely related insurance experience.
