Description

The Position

The list developed from this recruitment will be used for a limited period to fill open and promotional, regular full-time, and part-time positions throughout the County, should they occur. Pursuant to current bargaining unit agreements, employees regularly assigned to the coastal region or in Covelo are eligible to receive a 5% assignment premium .

Under general supervision, provides rehabilitative/restorative treatment services, crisis intervention, therapeutic intervention, assessment evaluation, and moderately complex, professional-level case management, including visiting with clients in residential or other settings, making referrals and counseling with clients on various issues.

Mobile Response Unit - Fort Bragg: Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist position to work embedded in the Sheriffs Department and respond with Law Enforcement to Mental Health Crisis Calls. Well qualified candidates will have mental health crisis experience, field outreach experience, and knowledge of Mendocino County mental health services. Experience with law enforcement also preferred. Candidates will need to be capable of working with in a Law Enforcement structure as a team, and also independently once client safety has been established to connection to community members to the appropriate level of mental health care. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Calworks - Ukiah: This specific MHRS position's primary duties are to provide a combination of classroom based rehabilitation and skills development, individual support and rehabilitation, and field based support and rehabilitation for Mendocino County beneficiaries who are enrolled in CalWORKS or returning to work and overcoming behavioral health concerns and challenges. Additional Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist assignments as needed, appropriate, and assigned to cover needs of department.

Mobile Teams - Ukiah, Willits, Fort Bragg : The Mobile Team Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist positions provide crisis assessment, intervention, and follow up care to the most vulnerable members of the community. Strong candidates will have experience working with individuals with serious mental health conditions and will have skills in engaging and building rapport and with creative problem solving This position has atypical hours and is predominantly field based.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education and Experience:
Must meet California Code of Regulations Title IX, §630 requirements for Rehabilitation Specialist as stated below:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment or vocational adjustment. Up to two (2) years of graduate professional education may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Up to two (2) years of post-associate degree clinical experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree, in addition to the required four (4) years in a mental health setting.

SALARY
Compensation is based on a five-step salary range, with annual merit-based increases within the salary range.

RETIREMENT

HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL LEAVE
Mendocino County observes 11 paid holidays per year. Employees are granted 24 - 48 hours of personal leave annually, depending upon Bargaining Unit.

VACATION
Accrues at the rate of two weeks per year for three years. Three weeks per year after three years, four weeks after eight years and five weeks after 15 years.

SICK LEAVE
Paid sick leave accrues at the rate of 1.25 days per month, or 15 days per year. Accruals are pro-rated for part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours per week, and extra-help employees receive up to 24 hours (or 3 days) of paid sick leave annually.

MEDICAL, DENTAL, VISION, AND LIFE INSURANCE
The County and the employee share the cost of an employee selected health care plan; enrollment in the plan includes $20,000 Life Insurance.
