DHS is seeking dedicated Clinic Licensed Vocational Nurses (CLVNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to join our team. Whether you’re working in community clinics or hospitals, this is your opportunity to grow your career while serving diverse communities across LA County.

Essential Job Functions

What You’ll Be Doing
Clinic LVN Is and LVN Is provide specified direct care to assigned adult or pediatric inpatients in a medical, surgical, obstetrical, psychiatric, admitting or rehabilitation ward, or intensive care, or other specialized inpatient care unit.

What You Need to Apply
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, at the time of hire , you’ll need to have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association and one of the following:

Physical Demands
This role requires moderate physical activity, including standing or walking for extended periods, as well as bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching. You may work on irregular surfaces, occasionally lift objects over 25 pounds, and frequently lift 10-25 pounds. You will be required to undergo a general medical examination for this position.

Assessment Process
We’re committed to helping you succeed! The exam process includes a multiple-choice and/or simulation assessment that is weighted 100% and will determine your total score on the eligible list. The assessment will evaluate the following key competencies:

You’ll need to score 70% or higher to be placed on the eligible list. You may take the assessment only once every 30 days, and as per Civil Service Rule 7.19, the results are not reviewable.

After you apply, we’ll send you instructions on how to complete the assessment. If you've recently taken identical test components for other exams, your responses may automatically transfer and your responses on this assessment may be used for future job postings as well.

Eligibility Information
We process applications as we receive them. If you pass the assessment, we will place you on a list for six (6) months. The hiring managers within DHS will use this list to fill vacancies as they become available.

Note: We may use an alternative banding method in line with Civil Service Rule 11.01(D).

Available Shifts
You may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
