Job Summary The Federal Grant and Special Programs Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating, processing, reviewing, reconciling, and troubleshooting fiscal operations of Title IV Aid that interfaces with the Federal COD system. This includes Federal Pell, Federal Direct Loan, TEACH, and other Title IV programs. Additionally, this position handles the processing, certification, reconciliation, disbursement, and troubleshooting of Private Loans.
The Grant and Special Programs Coordinator also supports the FA Systems Team as needed, assisting with data for CSAC programs (Cal Grant, MCS, etc.) and providing processing assistance for batch and automated posting of service indicators, checklists, comments, communications, and other automated tasks as required by business needs. Furthermore, the incumbent ensures that services are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position employs a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities - Manage and coordinate fiscal operations of TITLE IV Aid that interfaces with the Federal COD System: Pell Grant, Direct Loan, TEACH Grant, etc.
- Provide processing and reconciliation support for all financial aid programs as needed. Assist students and families with direct counseling support.
- Provide processing support to the FA Systems Team with batch/automated processes and CSAC Data Interchange.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of state, federal, and institutional financial aid regulations. Proficiency in Peoplesoft Campus Solutions or similar financial aid and scholarship management software, automated systems, and tools. Demonstrated ability to apply strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to deliver high-quality products and services; anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers; committed to continuous improvement. Support students and customers by demonstrating competence, professionalism and using a positive attitude. Formulate effective strategies consistent with the business.
Develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to make organizational improvements. Make breakthrough decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment. Solicit input from individuals who can add significant value to the decision-making process. Education and Experience - Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or related fields and three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.
Physical Summary Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,276 - $6,209 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,276 - $7,517 per month.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
