Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

The Chief Deputy District Attorney (DDA) mentors, manages, and evaluates assigned staff to promote and maintain a vibrant, just, effective, and collaborative workforce of prosecutors and support staff serving Jefferson and Gilpin counties. Performs special assignments as directed by the District Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, or Senior Chief Deputy District Attorney(s) including but not limited to prosecution of cases of significant interest.

Additional Job Description

Additional duties include approximately one week per year serving as 24-hour on-call legal support to law enforcement and responding to the scenes of active investigations pursuant to office guidance and approximately one instance per year conducting bond hearings on either a Saturday or a Sunday . Attorneys assigned to specialized functions such as appeals or intake may see reduced emphasis on trial work and docket management.

Applicants will have more than eight years of experience in criminal prosecution including significant experience litigating jury trials, three of which in Colorado District Court.
