Under administrative direction, the Director directs and administers the Utilities Division and programs of the Port of Oakland in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives as articulated by the Executive Director and approved by the Board of Port Commissioners. The Director plans, coordinates, organizes, directs and controls all Utilities Division activities including short and long term strategic planning, infrastructure management and compliance. The Director (Director) of Utilities is a senior executive of the Port, serving at the pleasure of the Executive Director and the Board of Port Commissioners. Priorities for this role include:

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires education and experience reflecting possession of the required knowledge and skills. A typical combination would include graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in electrical engineering, business or public administration or another related field plus at least seven years of professional experience in management of a utility related operation, including at least three years managing professional staff.
