This position will be located at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City MO - 40-hour work week.
- Develop detailed professional plans and specifications for constructing abandoned mine land reclamation projects using sound engineering practices including grading plans, storm water drainage control, spillway design, survey control, testing, and sampling.
- Utilize various software (AutoCAD 3D, Carlson, Global Mapper) and remote sensory data sources, including surveying, to collect site specific survey data of topography, building structures, drainage structures, roads, and water treatment structures.
- Coordinate with Abandoned Mine Land (AML) staff and private or public landowners to outline a general scope of work for the design and construction of abandoned mine land reclamation projects.
- Prepare plans for seal and signature, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with proposed design criteria, from preliminary sketches through final bidding of construction plans.
- Direct and/or coordinate the work of construction and survey crews, contractors, and other professional, technical, and sub-professional personnel to ensure that work completed accomplishes the intended engineering design of the project.
- Perform engineering and technical reviews of coal permit applications and actions as assigned by the unit supervisor.
- Occasional daily travel for onsite inspection, data acquisition, and construction meetings.
To be hired as a Professional Engineer, you must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Assistant Engineer - A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 0-2 years relevant experience.
- Associate Engineer - A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 2-4 years of progressive relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer - Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri with at least four full years of satisfactory engineering experience, as required for licensure.

Salary:
$57,000-$80,000 per Year
