Major Duties Under general supervision of the Executive Director of Career Education and Professional Development, the Employer Relations and Career Development Specialist develops and nurtures employer relations for the Career Education and Professional Development Office in the Nazarian College of Business and Economics. The incumbent identifies employers with internship and job opportunities aligned with the professional and practical experience relevant to each student’s chosen career.
- Collaborates with employers to create strategic partnerships and specialized internship programs that lead to annually recurring placement of multiple students.
- Increases post-graduation job success for first-generation students from underrepresented communities as a means for building economic mobility.
- Develops and manages all on-campus and virtual recruitment events and services--including on-campus recruiting, fairs, industry mixers, site visits, Handshake job postings, and any other activities that leverage employer involvement for the career development and professional outcomes of Nazarian College students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
- Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
- Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Working knowledge of general practices, programs, and/or administrative specialties. Working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques.
- Ability and specialized skills to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to: oversee and/or train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong relationship-building skills; proven record of cultivating and developing relationships with hiring managers, recruiters, and executives. Track record of building and maintaining long-term working relationships.
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and the overall organization. Comfortable working with a variety of career center tools/technologies, including Handshake.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work individually and as part of a team. Exhibit a polished and professional demeanor in representing the Nazarian College brand.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule - The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
- Classification: Admin Analyst / Specialist / 1038/ grade 2
- The anticipated HIRING RATE is up to $6000 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4598 - $8318 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
