Why you’ll love this position:This is a licensed professional position accountable for coordinating and managing the assessment and treatment of mental illnesses. Provides thorough behavioral health services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Develops and implements individual treatment plans that specify type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy. Treats and counsels clients and uses a variety of treatment methods to intervene and assist in behavior modification. Writes reports on clients, and evaluates the effectiveness of counseling or other treatments and modifies plans and diagnoses as necessary. May conduct court-ordered evaluations and provide testimony in court proceedings.
What you’ll do: - Develops, implements and coordinates psychological services in an assigned treatment/habilitation program of substantial scope. Administers, scores, interprets and prepares reports of intellectual, psych neurological, and personality assessments.
- Formulates and presents diagnostic and treatment plan recommendations for review during interdisciplinary treatment team meetings; participates as an active member of the treatment team, and may function as a team leader/coordinator.
- Conducts psychological interventions using a wide variety of theoretical models for remediating psychological and behavioral problems; consults with other staff members concerning problem areas, provides individual, family or group therapy. Serves as a member of various facility committees. Conducts pretrial examinations of accused individuals, prepares pretrial psychological evaluations and reports findings to appropriate court officials. Provides consultation services concerning psychological programs to other state or community agencies.
- Supervises psychology interns, practicum students, other psychology staff and volunteers. Consults with other facility staff in planning and conducting psychological research projects. Performs other related work as assigned.
Key Skills Knowledge of psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic theories and techniques. Ability to administer and interpret complex psychological examinations. Knowledge of psychological assessment and measurement techniques. Ability to develop, implement, and coordinate psychological services for an assigned treatment/habilitation program. Ability to supervise psychology associates and other staff. Ability to prepare psychological summaries and other reports as required.
All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current license as a psychologist in the State of Missouri at the time of appointment.
