Having highly talented employees provides the best service to our community.This is a part-time position. The incumbent will work up to 19 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. There is currently one (1) vacancy in the Central Services Division of the Finance and Management agency. Vacancies in other departments may also be filled from this recruitment.
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To Operates digital print and copy machines to produce a considerable volume and variety of printed materials. Operates automatic collating, inserting, folding, stapling, punching, wrapping, and paper-cutting equipment. Collects mail, inter-departmental correspondence, office supplies, office equipment, or other materials from City offices and delivers to designated locations. Operates mail processing equipment including letter folding, envelope-stuffing and sealing, and postage machines. Lifts and moves heavy objects including sacked mail, boxes of books, reprographic supplies, etc. May deliver mail to the post office. May drive a vehicle in the performance of duties. Performs a variety of related manual and clerical work or other related functions as assigned.
IF ASSIGNED TO FINANCE AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES AGENCY, DUTIES MAY ALSO INCLUDE:
- Delivery of City Mail at various locations throughout the City
- Distribution of packages received to employees
- Completing reprographic requests as needed
Minimum Qualifications REQUIREMENTS : Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Some experience and/or education and training that provides the following knowledge and abilities.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF: Duplicating copiers and related equipment.
ABILITY TO: Learn and perform the setup, operation, care, and maintenance of printing, reprographic, bindery and other equipment; learn the types and uses of papers, and other supplies used in duplicating work; learn the methods, standards and services of the U.S. Postal Service, private carriers and in-house City mail for the collection and distribution of mail; make simple mathematical computations; learn and observe safety rules and regulations; maintain simple records; lift and move heavy objects; work independently from oral and written instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds and perform duties requiring substantial walking.
NOTE: Possession and retention of a California Class C Driver's License is a condition of employment.

Performance Examination : (Qualifying) will assess the candidates' proficiency in using Microsoft Word 2016 software.

Part-Time employees accrue paid sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked up to a maximum accrual of 6 days or 48 hours. Employees are eligible to use 3 days or 24 hours of accrued paid sick leave in a 12-month period.
