Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Transportation and Parking Services, the Parking Officer will patrol campus on foot and/or by vehicle to provide enforcement of campus parking rules and regulations including issuing citations, immobilizing and impounding vehicles, directing traffic and assisting police with traffic accidents and emergency calls for services, providing parking information and general university information to visitors, guests, students, staff and faculty.

Day-to-day work is performed independently under general supervision. Assignments involve regular use of judgement and discretion to solve problems and address situations. Courses of action are guided by established protocols requiring limited interpretation of policies.

This is a temporary, one year position with possibility of extension. The position works an intermittent hourly schedule that is provided ahead of time.

The University Police Department consists of an operations and a support division. Transportation and Parking Services is a unit of the Support Division which also includes Communications and Records, Support Services, Visitor Information Center and Commuter and Access Services.

Anticipated Hiring Range:$22.36 - $27.23 per hour

Classification Range: $44,160 - $63,720 annually
