A Sr. Professional Engineer - Stormwater Infrastructure Management position is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation & Public Works Stormwater Management Division, Stormwater Infrastructure Management Section. This position performs plan reviews, and review coordination for Capital Project plans in a timely, efficient, and effective manner, and ensures that the proposed projects apply adopted stormwater design criteria, engineering best practices, and conform to floodplain regulations. The responsibilities also include providing guidance and oversight to all City departments to ensure City Project Managers and Engineers understand Stormwater and Floodplain criteria. The Sr. Professional Engineer also attends meeting with various stakeholders and manages the Stormwater standard product list for City of Fort Worth.
This Position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay: - Sign-On Incentive of $5,000
- Relocation Incentive of $1,500 (if relocation allowance qualifications are met)
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience as a registered professional engineer of which two (2) years must be within or related to the area of stormwater management,drainage and grading design, hydrologic & hydraulic analysis, or storm drain infrastructure design.
Preferred Qualifications: - At least five (5) years of stormwater infrastructure related engineering experience, and previous experience working for a Municipality or Government Agency.
- Proficiency with industry-standard stormwater design and modelling software, as well as design guidelines for stormwater infrastructure design and floodplain regulations.
- Skilled with general trouble-shooting or analysis for stakeholders, such as: collaborating with Capital Delivery to ensure projects are appropriately designed, collaboration with Field Operations to provide solutions for drainage related service requests.
The Sr. Professional Engineer-Stormwater Infrastructure job responsibilities include: - Performs review, and review coordination, for publicly funded Capital Project plans in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Ensures that the proposed capital projects apply adopted stormwater design criteria, engineering best practices practice, and complies with floodplain regulations.
- Make sure that proposed stormwater systems can be maintained by field operations, and that the proposed infrastructure improvements will not create any conflicts with existing stormwater systems or exacerbate existing drainage issues.
- Provides guidance or training to other City departments and divisions, and other agencies, to ensure Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders understand Stormwater and Floodplain criteria. This includes attending meetings to answer questions and clarify review comments.
- Participate in a variety of coordination and project meetings to learn about new or upcoming public and private projects, provide feedback, review requirements, process guidance, scope drainage studies, and share information on other related projects (including private development projects).
- Reviews TXDOT and County plans in a timely, efficient, and effective manner to ensure that the proposed projects will not have an adverse impact on city existing stormwater systems and others.
- Participate in meetings with various stakeholders to review the specifications, plans and other issues.
- Lead review, development, coordination, and compilation of the Stormwater standard products list; including working with manufactures who are applying for product approval, performing review and research, and coordinating with review committee members and other stakeholders.
