The Position: Assistant Tenure-Track Professor

Position Starts: Fall 2025

Salary: Anticipated hiring range: Assistant professor $89,000 - $98,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Master’s degree in nursing, at least one year’s clinical experience as an RN in direct patient care within the last five years, and one year’s experience teaching nursing or a course that included practice in teaching nursing. Candidates nearing completion of the master’s degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position. In addition, applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in California to apply and must achieve RN licensure in California no later than the first day of employment if hired. Applicants must also meet health policies and other requirements imposed by clinical agencies. Candidates must pass a 10-panel drug test and background check as a condition of employment. The successful candidate should provide evidence of their commitment to or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching and scholarship. Tenure track faculty teaches both theory and clinical in undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department. The School of Nursing has an interest in hiring applicants qualified to teach in areas of medical surgical, mental health, and pediatrics.
