Position: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering (Computer Engineering Technology/Electronics)
Effective Date: August 18, 2025 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688/per year. The anticipated hiring range is $101,760 to $104,940/per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications: - Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Degree at the time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025.
- Specialization in the area of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the college level
- Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research and scholarly activity
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students
Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
- Experience in teaching courses in the areas of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering technology, Electronics or related fields
- Demonstrated ability and clear plans for the development of research programs in Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on AI and Machine Learning
- Demonstrated ability to supervise student thesis and projects
- Ability to develop programs and curriculum
- Active participant in academic governance
- Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body ( Demographics )
- Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom

Duties: - Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to, Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics, as well as fundamental undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
- Develop programs and curriculum and keep content current
- Mentor and advise students
- Supervise graduate student theses and projects
- Develop and maintain an ongoing research program which complements and enhances research activities in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology leading to publications and external funding
- Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community as appropriate
