Position Description:
Responsibilities:

Licking County Job & Family Services is seeking a dedicated team member with a social services background to serve as the initial point of contact for the reporting of child abuse and neglect referrals. This position engages referral sources by phone to gather critical information related to child abuse and neglect situations. Referrals may also be taken in person. This position works with the investigative unit to identify level of risk and ensure referrals are assigned timely and appropriately.

Responsibilities include interviewing referral sources to gather as much detail as possible, conducting thorough record searches to gather relevant supporting documentation using various state systems and local databases, identifying potential safety risks to prepare social workers to visit homes, and presenting information to the investigative supervisor in a timely fashion. The Intake Screener must have excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients, the general public, and coworkers. Intake screeners provide referral information for various community resources.

Additional responsibilities include assisting social work staff with clerical duties such as scanning, making copies, etc. May occasionally assist with care of children in the agency if extra staff are needed to assist.

Job Prerequisites:
Qualifications

Minimum education requirement is an associate degree in a related field such as human services, social work, criminology, or other behavioral science. At least one year experience in social services strongly preferred. Attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and strong communication skills to interview individuals thoroughly is a must. Regular and punctual attendance is essential to provide these critical services to the community.

Pre-employment requirements include a background check, drug screen, and driving check. Applicants must submit and resume and application.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $18.86 - $24.88 per hour (placement in pay range is dependent on experience and education)
